of An Artist

Regional artist Dawn Walker shares insights from her solo exhibition Porcelain Places currently showing at the Tweed Regional Gallery and will explore her artistic journey through family, academia and politics. Her current exhibition presents a new body of small oil paintings capturing vintage souvenirs from the Tweed and surrounds. Through her work Walker explores the popular appeal of the souvenir, evoking a sense of nostalgia for the familiar while presenting a new meaning for these once treasured tokens of place.
